Dear Treetrunkwise Community,
♥ All community yoga and meditation classes are now donation-optional. ♥
Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend these classes.
Financial means should not determine access.
It is my hope that this model inspires contribution to become an opt-in practice of sacred exchange and reciprocity. If you would like to participate in supporting this community offering, you can make a donation of any amount.
In the spirit of our practice benefiting others, here is how your contribution ripples outward:
– Real Rent Duwamish: A % of your contribution is donated in acknowledgment that the Treetrunkwise Home Studio sits on the un-ceded tribal lands of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish, the stewards of this sacred land for millennia and the front line protectors of our environment. (Asteya: the yogic tenet of integrity and non-stealing)
– Rotating Community Organization: A % of your contribution is donated to a local organization doing important work in the current landscape of challenges we face, including the ongoing pandemic and the fight for the liberation and humanity of Black lives, Indigenous lives, and peoples of color who continue to be oppressed by white supremacist policies and policing.
(Ahimsa: the yogic tenet of love, compassion, and non-harming)
– Treetrunkwise Yoga: a % of your contribution is reinvested into Treetrunkwise Yoga to ensure that offerings like this can continue to be made accessible to all. (Aparigraha: the yogic tenet of flow and non-clinging)
COMMUNITY IMPACT
In the spirit of our practice benefiting others, your contribution will help support:
– Real Rent Duwamish: A portion of your contribution is donated in acknowledgment that the Treetrunkwise Home Studio sits on the un-ceded tribal lands of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish, the original stewards of this sacred landand the front line protectors of our environment.
– Rotating Community Organization: A portion of your contribution is donated to a local organization doing important work in the current landscape of challenges we face, including the ongoing pandemic and the fight for the liberation and humanity of Black lives, Indigenous lives, and peoples of color who continue to be oppressed by white supremacist policies and policing.
– Treetrunkwise Yoga: A portion of your contribution supports Treetrunkwise Yoga and ensures that offerings like this can continue to be made accessible to all.
♥ Additionally, workshops and private sessions will be offered on a sliding scale. ♥
Sliding scale means that, instead of a set price, each of these offerings will have a price range. You choose the amount that feels right to you. Community pricing is sometimes situated into tiers, such as supporting or sustaining amounts. My intention is to remove the hierarchy and to think of our exchange as part of the greater web of interdependence, with opportunities to practice generosity and graceful receiving as needed.
And finally, if these options create a barrier to your access, please connect with me about a scholarship.
Please feel welcome to reach out if you have any questions or feedback.
With Great Love.
